Milo Cramer is the writer and performer in Cherry Lane Theatre's School Pictures – a musical journal documenting parenting, inequality and the cruelty of puberty in the NYC school system with humor and wit. Faith hates reading, Jane has lost her flashcards and Javier sees no point in studying because of climate change. This musical journal documents parenting, inequality and the cruelty of puberty in the NYC school system with humor and wit. Directed by Cramer's longtime collaborator Morgan Green, School Pictures returns to NYC following a sold-out run at Playwrights Horizons. Vulture named it the “Best Play of 2023," praising it as “gentle, generous, seemingly simple in form but buzzing with complexity.” The acclaimed production also earned praise from The New York Times, TheaterMania, New York Theatre Guide and more.
School Pictures follows Cramer’s No Singing in the Navy at Playwrights Horizons, Business Ideas at The Alliance Theater in Atlanta (winner of the 2024 Kendeda Award), Cute Activist at The Bushwick Starr, and Minor Character, created with New Saloon Theater Company, produced at The Public Theater as part of the 2019 Under The Radar Festival.
